The role of Opportunity Works
- Connect people and groups to implement a plan to reduce poverty.
- Facilitate solutions that help people build assets
- Serve as a catalyst and evaluator
- Build a movement
The Role of the Policy Council:
- Being a “beacon” for the long-term focus on the reduction of poverty.
- Persistently raising awareness on issues of poverty and opportunity.
- Serving as the process and implementation champion.
- Monitoring progress of other community teams.
- Keeping the process moving and the plan alive for the next decade to result in the reduction of poverty.
