Economic Empowerment
This is a team that works to make economic empowerment more attainable by creating better ways for people to (1) earn (2) keep and (3) grow wealth. The current focus is to continue the C.A.S.H. course, which provides free financial education classes, and further research in career ladders and career tracks. Career ladders is being designed to help individuals raise their workplace skills and lower the burden for the businesses with high turnovers. Career tracks is a program that will work to educate our youth, keep them interested in a local career and hopefully keep them in the community.
Education
This team wants to make educational opportunities more accessible to people who are struggling. The current focus is to discuss advocacy priorities for the Legislative sessions, community advocacy teams and expanding the network throughout the region.
Health
This team works to expand community advocacy to increase health services in selected cases including substance abuse, mental health treatment, and health care access for people in or vulnerable to conditions of poverty. The current focus is to support the Moms Off Meth (MOM) and Dads Against Drugs (DAD) substance abuse programs. We would like to bring these support groups to Northeast Iowa through recruitment of facilitators and locations, and also serving as a referral.

This team is working to increase neighborhood-led activities and increase effectiveness of services and support for people who are victims of crime to improve the feeling of safety in areas where crime rates are higher.
